Shibori is the Japanese word for a variety of ways of embellishing textiles by shaping cloth and securing it before dyeing. The word comes from the verb root shiboru, “to wring, squeeze, press.” … Cloth shaped by these methods is secured in a number of ways, such as binding and knotting.

For this workshop you can bring a white t-shirt, a light colored textile such as a pillow cover, sheet, leggings, anything you would like to try this technique on. Liz will teach you how to do shibori on your fabric using the Annie Sloan chalk paint®.
